Plastic Free July
Plastic Free July was developed in 2011 by a clever group of Australians.
This local Australian movement has grown to a global campaign to raise awareness of the amount of plastic in our lives by encouraging people to eliminate the use of single-use plastic during July each year.
We as Greenpeace Winnipeg, want to join many others around the world as part of our Plastic Free Peg initiative by taking part in the global movement that is Plastic Free July.
Our goal is to increase awareness of plastic use and decrease the use of plastic in our lives.
Attempt to refuse single-use plastic during the month of July.

We will be joining with local restaurants that have taken the pledge to not serve beverages with plastic straws in the month of July. We will be encouraging them to provide information on the tables about why they are only serving straws upon request.
